EVH Infection
The HPA has been informed that a pony has been recently exposed to equine herpes virus infection according to the results of the serology tests, and this in combination with the clinical signs exhibited by the mare strongly suggests EHV infection.
The veterinary surgeon who is treating the mare has consulted with Simon Knapp MRCVS, and the decision has been made to close the yard at Englefield, near Theale, Reading, and all the relevant people have been informed.
