HPA ANNOUNCE ENGLAND TEAM FOR FIRST TEST MATCH
The Hurlingham Polo Association has announced a 26 goal team to play Australasia in their first Test Match of the English season at the Beaufort Polo Club on Saturday 20th June. The Audi sponsored England quartet, which will be captained by Luke Tomlinson, also includes James Beim, Malcolm Borwick and Mark Tomlinson. Henry Brett and Nacho Gonzalez have been named as reserves for the fixture. England will play a 28 goal Australasia team including three Australians in Glen Gilmore, Ruki Baillieu and Robbie Archibald. The New Zealand captain John Paul Clarkin makes up the team that will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the English team. In the second game the England Ladies take on a Young England team captained by Nick Pepper (3). Ollie Cudmore (2), Eden Ormerod (3) and Ben Malasomma (2) make up the quartet. The England ladies make one change from the 2008 winning team, with Rosie Ross (2) joining Emma Tomlinson, Tamara Vestey (2) and captain Nina Clarkin (3).
