Coaches liability Insurance
Qualified Coaches’ & Instructors’ Public Liability Insurance
With effect from April 1st, 2014 all HPA qualified Coaches and Instructors who are listed at the following link: click here, have their Public Liability Insurance arranged on a group policy through the HPA.
This policy provides coverage:
Indemnity against your legal liability to pay damages (including claimants’ ™ cost, fees and expenses) in accordance with the law within the European Union up to the maximum limit of indemnity stated in the policy.
Indemnity only as it applies to such legal liability as defined in the Policy arising purely for your activities as a freelance coach and/or instructor and includes lectures, demonstrations, etc.
So long as your primary coaching and instructing activities usually operate within Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, this cover is extended to include your coaching and instructing activities worldwide in respect of temporary visits not exceeding 30 days in total during any one policy period.

This policy will not provide coverage if you are giving lessons to pupils on horses owned by you or any of your employees, or if you are providing horses for rental or tuition from others, your activities will fall under the Riding Establishment Act, for which you will be required by law to obtain a license from your local council – see this link: www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1970/32
